Private Events at the World Economic Forum in Davos
In 2007, Fondation Guilé initiated a dialogue about the UN Global Compact, bringing together high-level executives of the private sector and the United Nations. The UN Global Compact office uses these discussions to exchange thoughts how to further develop the largest corporate citizenship initiative of the world.
At this 6th private event, the theme of “Corporate Responsibility: Creating Value Added for Investors, Investees and Society” was discussed with investors, company representatives and other stakeholders.
At the occasion of the 5th anniversary of Fondation Guilé's engagement in Davos, experiences and expectations in the context of the UN Global Compact as well as responsible, long-term oriented investments were discussed.
The UN Global Compact LEAD Luncheon marked the one year anniversary of the LEAD initiative and provided the opportunity to engage in open and interactive discussions with UN leadership.
A group of 90 business leaders, high-level UN delegates, academics and public officials discussed options to implement the Blueprint for Corporate Sustainability Leadership.
50 people discussed the Blueprint for Corporate Sustainability Leadership, which was developed by the Fondation Guilé in cooperation with the UN Global Compact Office in view of the Leaders Summit 2010.
The high-level executives commented on several proposals to strengthen the UN Global Compact for its second decade.
The first Private Event in 2008 was the first meeting of UN General-Secretary Ban Ki-moon with CEOs of companies that are UN Global Compact participants.
